* R4.0.0 is a substantial code rebuild. Unfortunately, due to software idiosyncrasies, it is not backward compatible with R3 saves.
- I have tested this build for bugs as much as possible. Hopefully, none have slipped through the net.
* Fixed a bug that would cause the game lock up if in mounted travel-mode, both camels and horses were present, and a man was killed or discharged.
* Introduced an "animal loss hierarchy" to the mounted expeditions code, based on animal health and terrain bias, rather than using the old "random" method.
* Previously, the explorer would automatically become a bearer if the last bearer died, in order to avoid too many losses of pack-animals.
- The player is now given a choice if askaris are present, in case losing 1 askari per turn seems too high a price for a pack animal.
- The event is now triggered by a "bearer to animal" ratio, rather than being down to the last bearer as before.
* Pack-animals are now automatically utilized as ride-mounts to avoid a mounted expedition reverting to foot travel-mode due to insufficient rides animals.
* Fixed a bug that registered the starving explorer as "sick", even after having butchered a horse or camel for rations.
* Fixed an anomaly in the "poisoned oasis" disaster, which would incorrectly roll the dice in favor of the explorer not being poisoned.
* Fixed a bug which allowed camels plundered from desert tribes after a battle, to exceed the bearer to pack-animal ratio.
* If an expedition died of thirst in the desert and rations were low, "low on rations" message would display after the "running out of water" message.
* Fixed an anomaly that would trigger unnecessary messages about doing bearer's work and animals being abandoned if the explorer was killed in a disaster.
* The journal pages can now flip bi-directional.
* Swapped native policy selection from right mouse button to left mouse button.
* Optimized various key scripts/code.
* Re-worded messages to better reflect the 19th-century time period.
* Re-mastered some graphic elements.
