Hi.

I'm sshulin and I'm making Soulstack. This is a card stacker, and there are maybe 9 games in the genre on Steam total. Stacklands at the top with 11k+ reviews. WitchHand and Card Cultivation pulled off their launches after it. The rest got abandoned or went free. Stacks:Space and Stacks:Jungle went free. Card Age got delisted. Most attempts haven't cleared 100 reviews. So I know what I'm walking into, and I'm taking the shot anyway because I like the genre and think there's room for a version that isn't survival-flavored.

Soulstack is an idle card RPG. Closest three words I've got. You gather, craft, feed stuff to a soulstone to level up, fight goblins and skeletons, raise a pet, transcend into one of 12 prestige classes. The vibe is closer to an incremental than to Stacklands. Losing a fight just knocks you out. I don't take anything from you except time. I just added fantasy text RPG vibe on top.

The demo is live. Full version coming after October Next Fest, so October or November. Here's what I'm planning for the full version:

  • second superlocation: a town with several dungeons

  • third superlocation: final area with end boss

  • T4 prestige classes with feature-based combat (DoTs, stuns, the stuff enemies use)

  • next tier of pets, tied to collecting all named true forms

  • T3 weapons with enchantment branches. Least pinned-down thing on the list

No early access this time. My last game went into early access and I couldn't meet the expectations I set for it. Not doing that again. I'll work on this until it feels complete, ship it as 1.0, and decide from there whether to keep going. I'm not promising anything I can't back up.

One thing I'd love help with: the game ships in 23 languages. I don't know 23 languages. LLMs did the rest and I reviewed what I could, but things will be off. If something reads weird in your language, tell me and I'll fix it in a patch.

Please wishlist and drop a comment if you can. Steam likes that stuff, it helps with visibility.
