We are thrilled to see everyone’s excitement around the new trailer yesterday and thought we would take the opportunity to answer some of your frequently asked questions. Read through the following answers to your questions and wishlist DEFECT to stay up to date on the latest news.
What is DEFECT?
Defect is an immersive cyberpunk shooter Inspired by games like SWAT and Ready or Not.
Is there a Single Player mode?
Yes, DEFECT will have an offline Single Player mode that will be distinct and different from the Multiplayer modes.
Is Co-op PvE or PvP?
Our Co-op mode will be separate from the PvP mode. We are also developing a PvE mode so you can play with your friends.
Is DEFECT a battle royale?
No. DEFECT is not a battle royale.
Is DEFECT an extraction shooter?
No, it’s not an extraction shooter either.
Is DEFECT a hero shooter?
No. There are no hero classes or pre-defined characters. What you equip in the world will define your playstyle.
What is DEFECTs PvP?
Our PvP mode is something entirely new.
Each team enters the match with its own mission, and these missions can intersect dynamically depending on what unfolds in the world. Sometimes you’ll cross paths with other teams, sometimes you won’t. We’re aiming to capture the tension of a SWAT or RON mission, but with real players, where every team has their own goals and motivations. Imagine four simultaneous Co-op missions happening within the same space, that’s the essence of DEFECT’s PvP.
Will there be forced RT?
No. Ray Tracing will not be required to play DEFECT.
Is DEFECT always online?
No. DEFECT supports offline play, it’s not always-online.
