Gacha Capsule Shop Simulator - Akihabara · published · build 24780086

There’s been a lot of discussion about AI art in the game, so just to clear things up: Much of the game’s artwork, music, 3D assets, and other creative work has been created in collaboration with artists or hand-picked from platforms such as Canva, Envato, and iStock. However, some AI-generated images did make their way into the game through these third-party assets without being clearly identified as such. With help from our community, we’ve been reviewing these assets individually and removing or replacing anything we can’t confidently verify. With a lot of help from people on our Discord, we identified around 40 2D assets out of roughly 1,460 art assets currently in the game, These 40 assets either appeared to be AI-generated or that we couldn’t confidently verify that they were not. We’d rather remove or replace something than leave questions about its origin. The assets we identified have been removed or replaced as part of this update. While going through everything, we also took the opportunity to revisit several older assets that weren’t necessarily AI-related, but that we had already been debating internally. Some of those have now been replaced with new and improved designs as well. Also in Patch 0.8.28
Alongside the 2D asset overhaul, we’ve also added a few new features, fixes, and content:
New Capsule Pack: Academy All-Stars - You have been asking for this for the longest time, enjoy
Added Brightness to Graphics Settings
Added Detail Distance to Graphics Settings
Fixed an issue where the cart UI would not appear with TAB after opening the Barcode Scanner from the Toolbelt
Fixed locked figures displaying their unlocked materials in the Collection Room
Fixed character collision/radius changing when picking up tools
We’ll keep reviewing the game throughout Early Access, and if you spot something we’ve missed, send it to us on Discord and we’ll check it. If we can’t confidently verify an asset, we’d rather remove or replace it. We’re also replacing the current trailer with a fully hand-drawn anime trailer made together with an artist, and we’ll be sharing the storyboards and production process as it develops. Huge thanks to everyone who has been helping us track these down and improve the game. If you have an idea to improve the game or have a feature request, please share your feedback with us on our Discussions page, QQ, or our Discord server.
