Auto Saving & Space Elevator Phases

Satisfactory Modeler · published 11 Feb 2025, 15:09 UTC

Auto-Save Feature:
Previously the Modeler only saved on app exit (or CTRL+S). This could result in loss of data if the app was killed or power was lost. Now the app auto saves every 5 minutes. In addition it creates backups every time it saves. The auto save feature can be toggled off in the settings menu if desired. In addition the save interval and the max number of saved backups can be adjusted in the settings. When using the import button, it now asks if you want to do a regular import or import a backup save.

Steam Cloud Sync:
The writing of the save file is now more robust and the possibility of corruption while saving has been eliminated in cases where bad things happen during the writing of the file (like loss of power). Previously it was possible for Steam Cloud Sync to read/write while the modeler was reading/writing, possibly resulting in a corrupt file and total loss of saves. Now with more robust file writing to reduce the chance of corruption and backup files just in case the worst does happen, it is now safe to allow synchronizing of the save file via steam across multiple machines.

Space Elevator Phases:
Each of the Space Elevator goals can now be found as a recipe.

Like the Manual Calculator it does not take into account how splitters and mergers prefer to split/merge in game. So priority splitters/mergers are still useless as is the preference of normal splits/merges to be as even as possible. Also like the old version, this should always run quickly. However unli…
