Hello, agents!
Here’s a development update on Critical Shift. The past few weeks were challenging, but also very productive!
We had to upgrade our Unity version after a security vulnerability was discovered. The transition triggered several build and pipeline issues, and the team is actively tracking them down and fixing them. Progress is steady.
Despite the bumps, work toward our next milestone is moving forward:
Destructible Covers
Core functionality is complete.
Art integration for destructible objects on the first levels is in progress.
Final polishing is underway for shootable window mechanics on the early maps.
Meta Gameplay
The first preview version is in its final stage.
The main remaining piece is the dialogue system, which is being actively tested and refined.
Meta gameplay systems are being integrated into the first playable maps.
Audio
Sounds and ambience for the first three maps are finished and approved.
Machinima Integration
Work has started and is progressing as planned.
Game Feel & Pacing
Tasks focused on improving combat flow are currently in progress.
22 bugs fixed
Inventory UI improvements
Updated fire VFX for Molotov cocktails
Many additional technical and content improvements
Thanks for following development and supporting us ❤️
