Hello everyone!

December has been a productive month so far, and we're going full steam ahead. Today I am going to show off some of the new features that are going to be in the next update, along with other assets that are a work in progress.

Below, I have inserted a video, allowing me to properly demonstrate the new and upcoming features that will be live in a few weeks time. I also clear a few things up about where the game is headed.

Watch on YouTube

Character selection

Moving forward, once this update becomes live, there will be a new tab to click on in the main menu. From there, you'll notice a selection of characters to choose from and to play as. They all have their own background, and lore friendly story that fits within the world of the game, and my books.
Keep in mind that the screen shots are only an example, and aren't final. There still needs to be some tweaking with the format, but you get a good idea of what it's meant to look like from this picture below.

Once the update is live, you will be able to select 1 of the 5 characters to play as, each with several basic skins to choose from. Depending on the reception and feedback given from some players, we'll slowly add more characters as the updates roll out.

Weapon skins

There is also a new "weapon inspect" tab on the main menu. This will allow you to inspect the selected weapon, read the background of the firearm, and once the new DLC is live, you'll be able to apply a skin, and select the laser colour, once you have implemented the attachment during the game.

This new "supporter pack" DLC will grant the user access the use of the "bloody mess" skin for all 5 available weapons that are currently present in the game. This DLC is more of a testing ground for me, to see how I can support this game. Having a small scale DLC like this is good practice for other future content. It will be available at half price for the first couple of days for players that wish to help me out. Showing me this kind of support will help me out greatly, and will keep the fires burning to further keep this game going.

New Screamer models

Currently, the "Screamers" in the game now don't exactly look like how they're meant to be. My books clearly show a different creature, and let's face it, the enemies currently present in the game are pretty much just basic zombies.

This is a page from my first book. I'm sure you can tell that that creature isn't what you see in the game. That's why we have gone back a step and have modelled a brand new Screamer model that will be live in the upcoming update, where they will replace the current zombie models. Here is a little preview on what it looks like so far.

It looks fantastic! All there is left to do is optimising and unwrapping the model to paint it, and obviously clothe the Screamers to suit the theme of the level, speaking of which, the new level!

The Ruins of Truth and a new weapon

Along with the update, there will also be a new level introduced, that will be bigger and have more of a complex role to play in order to get as far as possible. It will be called The Ruins of Truth. A destroyed town that takes place in my book, that was once a proud standing settlement, now a destroyed waste of life. You, the player are the only one remaining, and you will have to fight your way out of this ruined hellscape.
Along with the new map will feature a new weapon, the battle rifle; a accurate, semi-automatic weapon that acts as a marksmans best friend. While it is not as powerful as the sniper, you'll find it to be more forgiving if you end up missing a few shots here and there. It will be implemented in the new map and the existing asylum map.

Along with this major update, it will feature a bunch of other fixes that are still present in the current game. Hopefully, the leader-boards will also be up and running, showcasing players high scores, whilst further optimising it at the same time.

That's all for now. There's still a lot to do. Until then, thanks for reading and your support.

Mr. Ox
