Hello! It has been a long time since we posted here, but if you continue to use our app (either the paid or the free version) you'll know that development is continuing steadily towards 1.0 from the 'Latest Updates' section in the welcome screen. We have refrained from posting here on Steam, not wanting to flood your feed with little updates, but it seems due to Steam's latest update policy now we have to. If you've missed out on our latest progress, we're really sorry!

For now, we'll recap about what's going on in the latest nightly builds, which you can try by following the images above or these steps (https://ar14.works/docs/mannequin/#installing-mannequin-character-generator-from-steam):

  • We have rewritten the app from scratch! One of the major problem with the app is how slow it is, and with the rewritten version in the nightly builds, everything is significantly faster. This includes changing colors, templates, exporting, zooming in/out, and other tasks.

  • Alongside faster rendering/processing, the UI also updated to make your workflow faster. For example, there are now 'Previous/Next' button for template switching (instead of always having to use the 'Browse' button).

  • For VTubers, we now have multipose exports! By using this feature, you can export a single model with multiple arm gestures. For example, arms down/standby + holding mic + holding gamepad. You can check the result of this feature with the latest sample model in Puppetstring.

  • For VN Devs, batch exports now have a checklist! With this feature, you can skip certain pose/expression/hairstyle/clothing combination that you don't need, saving export time.

  • Female template now has 'Small' torso size, which brought the option to three sizes (S-M-L). The smallest torso size is still in progress, so not all clothing template is compatible with it yet.

  • There are also various template updates, such as redrawn art and re-rigged parts (for Inochi2D exports). These are small but many, therefore hard to list.

That's all for now. Most, if not all existing features are already reimplemented in the rewritten version (alongside new features mentioned above). Feel free to try it, but keep a backup of your character files. Thank you for your continued support!
