Hello everyone,

I want to introduce myself to you first.

I am a solo indie developer, this is my third try at making an indie game. This game is called Pixel City, its gameplay would be very similar to my first game, City Worker Simulator. However I was not skilled enough to make character movement, image buttons, inventory and a lot of features that even myself would actually enjoy the game, but rather as a practise of my game developing skills and see how the market and players react. It turned out pretty neutral. Up until today, I got around 400+ wishlist additions on that game, around 200 units sold, and 1 review. I hope this time my game will perform better.

So getting back to this game, what is very different than my previous and many games in the market is a few points. Firstly is the display. The character, background and objects are completely pixelated, even the entire UI is also pixelated, so making sure you have a consistent view while playing the game. Second point is the movement system that I learned and developed, this is unique because I am actually using Ren'py as my development tool, as some of you may know, is primarily a visual novel engine. So with that I can easily add visual novel features in an action game, this is going to bring something new, especially as I continue to be familiarized with this engine. The third point to be honest, I am not sure yet, maybe I will set a decent pricing, and I promise to continue updating this game, before and after the game actually releases.

As you see in the title, a demo is coming soon. I aimed to finish at least a convenience shop or a restaurant, so the character has something to eat. And then maybe I will implement the first job by adding more materials and players are going to have to choose what to carry each time. Lastly some QoL updates, as long as all of above is finished, I will drop the demo and I will be happy to receive any feedbacks and suggestions.

One last thing is, I do not currently have a social media dedicated for my developer identity. So if you want to discuss something with me or others, better just comment below for now. I am planning to add at least a twitter account, and more platforms are possible. I hope you find the game interesting, wishlist if you like, I will see you next when I drop the demo!

The public version has just released. Before jumping into the game, I like to share a few thoughts. First, sorry for the public release being much much later than as I claimed. That is mostly due to the long review process and of course, my bad timing. As for the future of this game, I plan to continue updating this game, bringing some major feature updates, the updates are now month…Community17 Jul 2026DEVLOG #10The artwork of the upcoming car has changed. The last one has the wrong portion that was beyond saving, so I made a smaller one like this: So far the artwork of car and car shop has completed, the public version should release on time based on current estimation. The gameplay of car racing is borrowed from my previous game, City Worker Simulator, with a slight twist.
