New Feature: Stickers

Whether you’re making a Legacy game or marking up a map, you’ll want to know about our new Sticker tool. You’ll find Stickers on the upper left toolbar – they share a slot with the Text tool, so hover over that “T” and click the star icon to open the Sticker panel.

All you need to make a sticker is an image – and, as is usually the case, you can use either a Texture file, or a web image. You also have the option to name your sticker, and/or to modify its size. The size will default to a width of 3 and a proportional height based on that width. If you want to keep things proportional, just modify the Width field, and then hit the arrow button to the left of it to automatically set the height based on it.You can create stickers in Editor or in Multiplayer (though you won’t be able to import new textures in multiplayer; you’ll have to use one already in the package, or use a web image). Stickers are saved as part of the table state, so unlike Object Templates, any you create mid-session will not persist if you reload a starting state. To place a sticker, just click on it, and then click on whatever you want to sticker up! You can sticker to any game object or even the table. Stickers also ignore the distinction between the regular and ground layer – there’s nothing they can’t stick to.To remove a sticker, just click on it while you have the Sticker tool open, but no sticker selected. We’re excited to see what cool things you decide to sticker up!

Feature Improvement: Books

Okay, so technically we released this one last month, but we undersold it a bit in the Patch Notes, so let’s elaborate a bit: We’ve rolled out a variety of improvements to Book objects to make them a lot more useful and user friendly. These include…

  • Top Level Controls – Now when you mouse over a book, you’ll see buttons allowing you to turn the page or open the Viewer window, without needing to open the context menu (though that will still work if you’re so inclined).

  • More Intuitive Shared State – If you turn the page of a book using its top-level controls, the page will turn for everyone as before. But that will no longer be the case when using the viewer window – so now you and another player can each look up different rules at the same time.

  • Bookmarks – Got a big rulebook you want to help folks navigate? You can now add Bookmarks to help players jump to relevant sections. You can do this in one of two ways:

    • While editing the template for a book, you can click on a page and enter a bookmark name for it, the same way you might name a card in a deck.

    • While reading a book in the Viewer, you can click the Bookmark button to bookmark the current page.

  • Book-Specific Alt-Zoom – We know you rarely want the same zoom level for a book as you would for a card, so now when you modify your zoom level for a book, it won’t affect your zoom level for everything else.

Along with a variety of smaller quality of life improvements. If you haven’t added a rulebook to a mod before, or been frustrated with how it’s handled, give it a try and let us know how it feels.

Bug Fixes

  • UI elements that cannot be seen from the back can no longer be interacted with when not visible.

  • Flipping the front card of a deck to its back side will now correctly display that back side.

  • Translucent objects with low alpha values no longer have snap previews less translucent than the original object.

  • Scripted UI now displays international characters properly.
