Hello, fellow survivors!

This is the ZOMVIRUS development team.

In this Developer Note, we'd like to share the in-game optimization work we've been doing over the past few weeks.

We've made various improvements to provide a comfortable and immersive VR survival experience.

✅System Resource Optimization - Improved GPU/CPU Share

ZOMVIRUS strives for a strong sense of immersion through realistic lighting, sophisticated zombie animations, and physically-based effects.

However, we discovered that some elements were consuming more system resources than necessary and determined that optimizations were necessary.

This optimization work has resulted in the following improvements.

Shader Optimization: We streamlined repeatedly called shader calculations and applied LOD (Level of Detail) to less important objects to improve processing efficiency.

Animation: Cached repeated zombie movements and NPC path data to reduce CPU load.

Effect Resource Reorganization: Prioritized resource loading for key effects, such as explosions, shooting, and death effects, to improve memory efficiency.

As a result of these measures, we've seen an average 15-25% reduction in GPU usage at the same graphics quality level.

This allows for more stable frames to be maintained, especially in the latter half of waves and during large-scale appearances.

We're currently continuing optimization work to ensure a smooth return to standard solo mode,

and aim to achieve an average of 70-90 fps.

🧱Object Relocation for VR Environment Optimization

Map interior objects have been relocated to ensure visibility and natural movement patterns in the VR environment.

Key improvements include.

Removal of View Obstructions: Reorganized miscellaneous sunny objects located at shoulder-to-chest height from the player's viewpoint, enhancing the sense of openness in VR.

Important Object Emphasis: Improved placement of essential elements, such as ammunition and recovery items, so they can be seen at a glance.

These adjustments are not simply visual rearrangements; they aim to improve the UX in a fundamental way, taking into account the VR player's field of view and movement.

🔜Future Plans

We plan to steadily carry out optimization work and will continue to make continuous improvements.

Your feedback is our most powerful tool in guiding the development of ZOMVIRUS.

Please continue to share your thoughts and impressions as you play.

Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all users who participated in testing and provided us with their valuable feedback.

ZOMVIRUS will evolve together with you.

Please look forward to future content updates.

Be faster, smarter, and more powerful than the zombies, and survive to the end.

Thank you.
