New Roadmap

Midnight Heist · published 27 Apr 2025, 23:27 UTC

Hello everyone!

Please take a few minutes to read this announcement as you, our players and our community, have a big part to play in this.

You know us as very transparent and reliable developers who stick to their word and always put the community's feedback first. This has not changed since the release of Midnight Heist in October 2023 and will not change. This is precisely why we would like to communicate openly and honestly with you about our economic situation and the resulting changes - with the request for your permission.

What is the current situation?

For the release of Midnight Heist we have published a roadmap with content that we have planned until the 1.0 release. Here you can see this roadmap with the things we have already implemented.

In addition, there are features that were not planned but have made it into the game thanks to community feedback, such as the Black Market missions, the modules and the latest Horror 2.0 update.

So far so good, but Midnight Heist has had a problem for some time - the number of players.

Out of 264 reviews, Midnight Heist has a 93% positive rating.
This makes us incredibly happy and is indeed no small success, but the many positive reviews themselves highlight the problem.

“I cant believe this game has such a low player count”
“This game needs more attention from social media”
“Why are there no players?”
“The only issue is that the playerbase is very low”

Despite the many positive reviews, the current economic situation of Midnight Heist is unfortunately not good. Sales are falling, despite great interest and very positive feedback.

Because we want to be so transparent and open, we want to let you know that the current economic situation is difficult for us. As a team of two people, we still have a few resources to make it to the 1.0 release, but we have decided to change the roadmap a little.

The new roadmap and the request for your permission

Basically there wasn't much missing from the previous roadmap, but after several hours of planning we sat down and decided to create a new roadmap with concrete ideas for content up to the 1.0 release. We want to move the “nice to have” features out and make them dependent on the release success of Midnight Heist and focus on what we think are more fun and necessary systems and improvements until the full release. The new roadmap would therefore look like this:

But because we don't want to simply change the roadmap, even though Early Access can bring radical changes, we would like to ask you as our community for permission to continue with this new roadmap.

We still have a lot of ideas for Midnight Heist and will support our first co-op title as much as we can economically, but as a small company we have to be very careful not to let our ambitions ruin us.

What is the plan now?

With the new roadmap, we are aiming for a full release for Midnight Heist this year, along with a huge marketing campaign to somehow save Midnight Heist.

We would like to make all further ideas and content that we had planned dependent on the success of the 1.0 release. This is the best economic decision we can make in order to continue developing games and thus continue our passion.

Rest assured, we will do everything in our power to continue developing great content for Midnight Heist for as long as we can!

Thank you

Finally, we would like to thank you again for the amazing support we have received from you so far. On Steam, as well as on Discord and other platforms, we are very happy to have built such a community together with you.

We are more ambitious than ever before and will give our all, you can count on that!

Game update28 Jun 2026Changes & Bug fixes - 28.06.2026Hello everyone! We're really happy that you've all liked the update so far. We've received some great feedback from you once again, so we jumped right back to work and made some adjustments designed to make your lives easier, especially when it comes to the new features. And let us say this right off the bat: quite a bit more content made it into the update. Let's go through everything step by step. Upgrading to Unity 6 This was the biggest hurdle of them all. Midnight Heist was running on an older version of Unity, and that was holding us back. We’ve been transparent with you so far about the fact that the revenue from the game hasn’t been enough to keep us up and running, so we’ve had to take on new projects (admittedly, it was also really good for our mental health to have a change of pace and try something new). We had and still have n…
