Update #2: Combat Encounters

Our second update is live! Combat encounters are the biggest addition but there are a host of smaller changes to polish the game and fix bugs. We’ve been taking inspiration from your feedback, in particular one suggestion that the game needed more opportunities to acquire and use weapons. Combat encounters provide both but if you don’t want to participate in such earthly shenanigans, you won’t have to and what’s more, the lama will approve! We’ve designed the encounters to echo Kipling's accounts of the trials and tribulations of his countrymen so if you do want to get caught up in this sort of thing, remember that while the towns and the heartland of British India are relatively orderly, the hinterlands are less so!

Esports20 Jul 2026Discover Bon Vivant, our next gameIf you found your way through Kim's hand-drawn towns and Kipling's India, you already know we like building games around real times and places. Our next game, Bon Vivant, does the same for a very different era: 1920s Paris, at the height of its golden age. Bon Vivant is a strategy game about hosting legendary dinner parties. Instead of exploring a map, you're discovering a social world. You can…Community2 Mar 2018v1.4: Improved CombatIn the words of the lama, Kim's faithful friend, this is for the "brawlers and swashbucklers" among us! We had some feedback from the community that certain combat missions weren't playing as smoothly as intended so we investigated and discovered a couple issues that we wanted to address. Our main focus has been to make it easier to plan attacks with the game paused and then unpause to let them…Community3 Jul 2017v1.3: Uncharted TerritoryIntrepid explorers! Our 3rd post-launch update has a new feature, which has been designed with you in mind, uncharted territory! From now on, Kim's map will begin covered and you will reveal it as you travel. As with the photo album, your progress in this area is not reset at the start of a new playthrough; this helps you plan where to go to meet new characters and discover new quests. If you h…
