A new Arttista update is here, bringing powerful new drawing tools, better precision controls, improved display support, and a huge round of bug fixes.
This update focuses on making the drawing experience smoother, faster, and more precise while keeping Arttista's natural workflow intact.
Arttista now introduces Live Shape Tools.
These tools help you draw clean geometric shapes like semicircles, rectangles, and smooth curves while you're drawing freely.
The best part:
You don't need to switch tools.
You can start drawing a normal stroke and, in the same motion, guide it into a more mathematical or rigid shape. This makes it much easier to mix organic drawing with precise geometry in a single workflow.
It’s a powerful way to keep your drawing natural and expressive while still achieving precision when you need it.
Precision just got a big upgrade.
Arttista now features a fully configurable visual grid, allowing you to:
• Set the grid cell size
• Customize the grid color
• Enable or disable Snap to Grid
On top of that, the Arttista status bar now provides additional spatial information. Besides showing the mouse position in pixels, it also displays the mouse position within the current grid cell.
This makes workflows like pixel alignment, layout work, and game tile set creation much easier.
Arttista now supports High-DPI displays across all major platforms:
• Windows
• macOS
• Linux
If you're working on a high-resolution monitor, the interface will now scale correctly and look much sharper.
This version also includes a massive number of bug fixes and internal improvements, making Arttista more stable, faster, and smoother to use.
This release will be the last version compatible with the glibc version used by Ubuntu 18.04.
Starting with the next Arttista update, Linux builds will require glibc 2.35 or newer, equivalent to Ubuntu 22.04 and later.
This change is necessary because the current build environment has become outdated and increasingly difficult to maintain.
🔥 Thank you to everyone supporting Arttista and helping the project grow.
More improvements and new creative tools are coming soon!
