Ossu!

June 11 marks a new beginning for the JDM franchise with the launch of the multiplayer component for the game. Available on Steam today, with GoG and Epic Store releases soon to follow, allows for up to 8 player lobbies and total freedom of play in the Open World sandbox.

We won’t lie, this is a big day for us and our next step towards supporting JDM in the months to come. We hope you will have fun bringing your friends for a touge run or just cruising the open world, showcasing your favourite car, or drifting in tandem on the tight mountainous roads of Guntama.

We designed our multiplayer component revolving around co-op play that includes competitive aspects, rather than just free for all multiplayer chaos. We recently asked you in an online form what would you like to see in our games and playing together and cruising together received far more votes than sweaty competition. This is why we’re beginning our online adventure by opening the Open World first, so you can invite your friends to a session and chill together while drifting or just sightseeing.

This is of course just the beginning. We’re already hard at work at providing multiplayer game modes, including grip and drift races that you can compete in against your buddies or random fellow JDM enthusiasts out there. The game modes should roll out later this Summer for PC.

For everyone who reads this devlog but plays on consoles - the multiplayer component, including game modes will launch on Xbox and PS at a later date - we will keep you updated on the progress through our social media channels.

For a list of multiplayer features launching today please refer to our previous devlog HERE.

The ongoing support for JDM

First to summarise the multiplayer features and the roadmap ahead:

  • Steam - out now - Open World multiplayer.

  • Epic, GoG - in a couple of weeks - Open World multiplayer (should launch with cross play across the PC platforms).

  • Steam, Epic, GoG - Summer of 2026 - update with multiplayer game modes.

  • Xbox, PlayStation - TBD - full multiplayer experience (should launch with cross platform across all devices). We will keep you updated on the progress (it's not far off, we just can't commit to a date yet).

And now off to other updates:

  • Later this month, on June 25th, the second DLC for the game, titled American Classics will hit the digital shelves across all platforms. The expansion gives access to six new, unlicensed American cars for 5,99 USD.

  • On the same day, players can also expect to see a free update adding three new, licensed JDM cars to the game.

  • Ongoing work also includes the next Side Story Campaign and the heavily anticipated livery system update, which will launch later this year.

A get together with the community

With the launch of multiplayer on Steam we are organizing a small get-together with our community on our  Discord server, with some team members actively playing in multiplayer and a Discord stream set-up to showcase the mode and answer any questions the community might have.

We’re starting at 18:00 CEST and we cordially invite anyone interested in participating to join us.

Thank you all for being part of our community, we love you all and we hope to see you on the servers today!
