A bit later this time, but here are the patch notes.
We actually want to slow down demo updates and fully focus on new content. Still, we’ve made a few more adjustments.
- When ships are particularly long, the camera now adjusts to keep the whole ship in view.
- Weight Modulators now increase the effectiveness of direction engines on larger ships.
- The stats panel now shows how many enemies and bosses were defeated during a run.
---
- The impact of direction engines in combination with larger ships has been increased.
---
- Fixed several issues with spheres updates. Big Photon Spheres are playable again.
- The “Infernal Zone” upgrade of the “Infernal Sphere” could heal the player without “Rising Force” – this is now fixed.
- Various text adjustments and minor fixes.
- Floating text images now fade out together with their text.
---
- Since most pickups are particle-based, FPS dropped quickly when too many orbs were active at once. Orbs now use a form of LOD and turn into simpler objects when far away from the player.
- Enemy and district shaders were reworked to improve foreground/background separation. Lighting was also slightly adjusted in the process.
---
- The entire enemy spawn system has been completely reworked.
---
- A huge thank you to all our playtesters!
Most of these changes were made possible thanks to your feedback and bug reports.
Keep them coming – they really help us shape Nion Forge into a better game!
