Hellsplit developers are back with you again. First and foremost – we want to apologize for our long silence. As you may know, earlier this spring we released Hellsplit: Arena for mobile VR headsets. It also took us some time to roll out patches and fix various issues.
At the moment, we’re in an unusual situation: we now have two versions of the game, and the mobile version is actually ahead of the PC version in terms of content and mechanics. Right now, we’re fully focused on bringing the PC version of Hellsplit: Arena up to date. Once both versions are synced, we plan to release future updates for both platforms simultaneously.
We’re aiming to release this major update on Steam in the first half of autumn. A more detailed announcement will follow later this summer.
Today, we’re rolling out a small, but important update. As some of you may have noticed, the Steam version of Hellsplit: Arena has only supported one VR runtime all these years – SteamVR. This has occasionally caused issues when playing on Quest headsets.
With this update, we’ve added support for OculusVR – the native runtime for Quest headsets. This should help reduce various compatibility issues. You’ll now be able to choose the runtime environment when launching the game.
We’ve also fixed a few long-standing bugs.

Fixed a bug where weapon scale could change after sheathing it in a slot
Fixed a bug where your hand could get stuck in the shield after dropping it
Improved item-throwing mechanics
Fixed a bug where the Rifle with bayonet would start floating after stabbing
Fixed a visual bug where altar meshes would overlap each other
The biggest changes are still ahead. We’re actively working on bringing all the new mechanics over to the PC version – and the long-awaited major update on Steam is coming soon.
