Hey folks, We wanted to take some time today to update you on where we are with playtesting! If you've been part of our Discord you'll know we've been hosting some very limited playtests to test things like various HOTAS configurations, flight controls & general feedback. Now we've completed these smaller tests we are now hosting a more open playtest to help gather more feedback.

For this playtest we will be using Steam playtest functionality to select 3,500 who have signed up at random. The playtest is now live until 11am BST, May 5th 2026.

If you have not taken part in a playtest before you will receive a notification email to let you know the playtest is live - you will then be able to download jump in and play the playtest build. If you have played in our March playtest you won't receive a notification but the game will be available to download in your Steam Library.

We have a general playtest discussion set-up on our Discord, but we encourage all feedback/bugs be sent to the feedback form here. We are so excited to be able to open this up to more people ahead of our full open playtest very soon (timing to be confirmed 👀)

So let's talk about Region 2 - you'll know we did a bit of a deep dive into Waking (Region 1) back in February, so now it's time to talk about Redshore!

Redshore occupies the labyrinthian southern coast, curving along the shoreline to the east before reaching north towards the island’s harsher biomes. Defined by water and shaped by time, this region presents a striking contrast to the enclosed calm of Waking. The land here is fractured and exposed, cut apart by winding rivers and deep channels that divide the terrain into a series of rugged peninsulas and isolated landmasses.

Redshore wraps around and follows the contours of this mountainous centerpiece. From these central elevations, the journey of the restless Caraway River can be followed as it carves its way southward and splits, feeding into both the coastal waters of Cauldron Cove and the moody expanse of Dead Man’s Sound. The result is a mesmerizing landscape in constant dialogue with the sea– restless, irregular, and ever-changing.

The human presence here is shaped by necessity and industry. Mining operations dot the stoney, mineral-rich terrain with their scattered structures, and excavated hillsides hint at a “boom or bust” extraction economy. Small coastal settlements and farms persist along the shorelines, supported by fishing routes and the region’s access to open water. Visible on a stubborn island out on the horizon, the Redshore Flight School stands as a vital hub for new pilots, training them above open waters before turning them loose on more challenging endeavours.

To the east, the terrain flattens out a bit but remains splintered, demonstrated by a schism between Shark Tooth Isle and the nearby peninsula, Clark’s Cape. Finally, to the north, the region drops into the Drowned Inlet, a menagerie of scattered islands and narrow waterways that marks the region’s northern boundary

Unlike the dense and thriving ecosystems of Waking, Redshore supports a more fragmented natural world. Wildlife is present but dispersed, adapting to the broken terrain and shifting boundaries between land and water. Pockets of shorebirds enjoy the evergreen forests that begin to appear here, clinging to riverbanks and coastal edges, signalling the gradual transition toward the colder northern regions.

For pilots, Redshore is as challenging as it is expansive. Strong coastal winds, shifting weather patterns, and complex terrain demand careful navigation and precise control. Many airstrips, whether perched along cliff edges or carved into narrow stretches of land, offer little margin for error. Routes between settlements often require thoughtful planning, with fuel management and terrain awareness becoming essential to successful operations.

Where can you land in Redshore? Here is a breakdown of places you'll spot:

  • Major Airports - 1

  • Minor Airfields - 3

  • Small Strips - 3

Bush Strips

  • Mines & Quarries - 5

  • Farms - 5

  • Campsites - 4

  • Settlements - 2
