We are still working hard preparing the demo for the Steam Next Fest. This week I’ve focused on "cleaning house": I want the experience to be smooth and stumble-free when you play it in February.
Here are the most important fixes (thanks to the tester feedback):
Don't go broke: Now the game clearly warns you about how much each action costs. Before, you could spend coins without noticing and then... well, the Joker doesn't forgive debts. Now everything is transparent.
Am I winning or losing?: I’ve redesigned the progress bar. Sometimes it wasn't clear who had the upper hand, and I want you to know at all times if you have the Joker on the ropes.
Seamless Music: There was a small issue with the flamenco theme overlapping when changing phases. It's fixed now and sounds great.
One more thing... (and it's a bit weird) 🤨
Some of you messaged me saying that if you look very closely at the logo image, you can see a face or a shadow behind the letters.
I checked the original Photoshop file and, honestly, I only see the black background. I don't know if it's pareidolia (when the brain sees faces where there aren't any) or if your monitors are playing tricks on you, but I assure you I didn't draw anything there. Anyway, I'll take another look... although I admit you've left me a bit uneasy.
Oh, and about the Jack of Spades holding a little "HELP" sign in the screenshots... that IS a visual bug on my end. Don't pay any attention to it, it's just a placeholder asset I forgot to delete. 😅
Work continues! The demo is going to turn out great (and hopefully... normal).
