Hello, P.A.W. agents.

We wanted to share with you a cool change in the direction Fright Train is taking!

While the initial plan was to have two different game modes available, a linear story mode with puzzles and a highly replayable survival mode, we decided the game would benefit a lot from having a single game mode that combines the best of both worlds.

As a byproduct, Fright Train is now much easier to describe: a third-person action survival horror roguelite in which you'll explore the monster-ridden corridors of an enormous train speeding through Antarctica!

The story will be told through cutscenes at the start and end of runs, radio calls, and notes you find in the train cars. You'll be able to unlock a bunch of cool stuff like silly accessories, character skins with new stats, different gameplay modifiers, and weapon variants!

The upcoming demo will be a bit different from the final release since this change in direction is fairly recent, but it'll still give you a good idea of Fright Train's core game loop and doesn't feature any story spoilers! The demo is still planned to release this month, so make sure to wishlist the game to get notified!

Your Lead Agent, Louise Riley, and your fellow special agents, Clarke, Anderson, and Lewis.

Follow us on Bluesky or Twitter to get regular snippets of the game's development, and let us know if you have any questions concerning the game and the demo :)

See you soon and stay warm!
