Closed Multiplayer Playtests to begin early 2026

Ciao Pizza Managers!

It was no secret that we were planning on adding a multiplayer mode to Pizza Slice and now we are at the precipice of opening our doors for players who want to check out co-op play on their own.

You can sign up for this closed multiplayer test from the game’s Steam Store Page - just click the Join the Playtest button.

The test will launch early 2026.

Please remember that this is a CLOSED TEST, meaning that we will ask you to NOT share footage online. The game is still under heavy development, so we expect bugs, unforeseen issues and generally not the final quality experience. We also kindly ask you to keep  any discussions regarding the current version of the game limited to our Discord server. Thank you!

The people who had access to our previous playtest will automatically receive an invitation to the multiplayer playtest.

The purpose of the playtests

The main purpose is to measure how our core mechanics work in co-op play - how much fun they provide and how well the gameplay loop works when two players run the pizzeria together.

The secondary goal is to check our multiplayer systems - how inviting players to the game work and check for any unforeseen issues that may happen in a live game build.

Multiplayer gameplay scope

The multiplayer will work on a Host/Guest matchmaking. One player will Host the game and will be able to invite their Steam friend to join as a Guest.

Note that if a Host leaves the game, the Guest will not be able to continue playing that game session.

Once a game is hosted it will appear as a room in the multiplayer menu screen, allowing for other players to join.

Both players will run the pizzeria together in Career Mode with every interaction available for each player - there will be no set roles provided by the game. It depends on the players how they decide to divide their kitchen tasks - from prep-work, through baking, to waiting tables and cleaning. The game’s difficulty will also be scaled up when playing together with a friend - expect more guests coming into the restaurant that will require your attention.

There will be a total of 10 days available for the players to play through.

For the players who will be looking for a co-op partner we will open up Voice channels on our Discord server. Just swing by and ask if anyone wants to join up for a session.

We will also kindly ask you to fill out the form after you test the game out - your feedback will be essential for future development and polishing the experience before the game launches next year.

We will come back to you with exact dates of the playtest and any additional details early January. For now, please click the Join the Playtest button on our Steam Store Page, so we can start assessing the scope of the playtests.

Taking the opportunity, we would like to wish everybody a happy and restful Holiday Season! Remember, there’s nothing wrong with serving a pizza during Christmas dinner, even if it feels a little bit unorthodox :)

See you at the table!

The Pizza Slice team
