Frame rate target is still 120-240 fps at 4k.

The 7 scene captures do push back against that so I reworked them to be a little less demanding.

I also found a bunch of problems that were causing lag spikes during the heartbeat, so those have been smoothed out to around 5-10ms. It's still a bit of frame dip, but it's quite hard to fit all the logic into 4 milliseconds. My budget is still 8.3ms at UHD.

Currently I'm pushing around 230-260fps, but my system is rather beefy with a 4090 and 9950X.

However, most of the threading is sequential, so the problems will scale as more blocks and wires are added. I'll probably need to move this into async calls eventually, but that's an eventually problem.

Once I start moving more threading into C++ during the full optimization phase this should improve.

Reducing calls or staggering them more efficiently should solve a lot of problems.

Wire heartbeats currently take between 40-50 μs to complete.

Resource heartbeats take up to 80 μs.

So with just roughly 100 blocks we're already at our full budget.

Not gunna work, they gotta be faster, or I need to spread them out more.

0.10.4

  • Optimise new scene capture, which caused major performance hit.

  • Remap undo and rotate CCW so shortcuts are not consumed and overlap.

  • Resource heartbeat optimization.
