New Demo coming soon, lots of new info and Early Access update!

Hey guys!

Long time has passed since our last communication so we wanted to update you on how this project is going and what you can expect next. So without further introductions lets jump right to it!

Why no release yet?

Another year flew by, and Project Mist still isn’t out. We know — we feel it too, and we can’t wait to finally share it with you.

Each time we reach a milestone, we play the game, talk it through, and come to the same conclusion: we can do better. Instead of releasing it, we keep improving it.

Then we finish a new location, create new cutscene, and think, “This looks great… but the rest of the game should look and feel like this too.” So we start upgrading the entire game to that new standard — and another three months pass. And then it happens again.

At this moment we feel that we’ve poured so much love and effort into this project that we want to do it justice before hitting that Early Access button.

Why so long without updates?

With all the delays, it’s fair to ask why there were almost no Steam updates for nearly a year. The truth is, without any marketing at all, Project Mist reached over 180,000 wishlists on Steam.

That level of support told us that, for now, promotion wasn’t the priority — creating great game was.

So we focused entirely on development and waited until we created something that was really worth showing. Up until now.

When Early Access

Honestly we can’t say yet. We are currently aiming at Q1 2026 but we will see how everything goes so it may be Q2 or even later. Just like we mentioned, we want to make sure the game is great and ready before we push that button.

New Demo coming soon!

Good news is that new demo is almost ready and it will be published in late January so you can check out all the changes that we have made to our game. We can’t wait to hear your opinions and feedback!

What’s new?

Everything changed so much in the game that it's hard to decide where to start.

We have added 4 new huge thematic locations with their own theme, story, challenges and bosses.

We completely redone all the games UI

We added lots of new enemies and improved all current ones

We added tons of new items, gear, equipment and new player skills

We expanded all the elemental hazards

We added lots of new points of interest

We introduced mysterious guide for player to make sure he knows how to progress

Today we wanted to show you some quick introduction and screens from new locations, UI changes and talk a bit about Player Progression in game.

4 new huge locations:

Rootfather Greenhouse:

“They dreamed of eternal crops. Immortal yield. But you don’t grow forever without shedding something - like identity… or sanity. Now it breathes through roots and hums through the walls. They wanted abundance. All they got was unending rot.”

Dissection Lab

“This is where they brought Titans to die… or worse - to learn from them while they were still alive. Every slab in here has a story carved into flesh. Some were opened up just to see what kept them breathing. And some never stopped. The worst part? It wasn’t the blood. It was the silence. The moment they realized these things understood what was happening to them… and still didn’t scream.”

Surveillance Facility with Allseeing Eye

“The All-Seeing Eye wasn’t just security - it was BioGen’s way of pretending they still had control. Cut from a semi-sentient Titan, wired into every feed on the island, it processed more than video. Heart rate, stress patterns, intent. The staff called it a safeguard. But once the mist came, it stopped asking questions. It just started flagging threats. Now, long after its creators are gone, it still watches for anything it doesn’t recognize - and it never learned to forget.”

Drillsite:

“Welcome to BioGen’s blood mine. This is where they tapped into the Entity’s underground veins and turned its ancient blood into fuel. The side effect? Mist. Lots of it. We’re going to reverse that process. Condense the mist back into blood and capture it. It’ll be more useful that way. At least for us.”

Work in progress shot:

New UI

We have completely redone whole game UI and we hope that everything will look much better and clearer now. You can also see more screenshots in section below and we hope you will like them!

Player Progression:

Every enemy you kill leaves behind a trace - a Blood Vial, the island’s most precious and grotesque currency. These can be looted from corpses, but also discovered throughout the world - tucked into shelves, hidden behind debris, buried in secret stashes, or left out in plain sight for the observant to find.

But blood doesn’t only come from killing.

Using a special biomechanical device known as the Grotesque Chum, the player can break down any item in the game - weapons, gear, trash, even food - and convert it into raw Blood Vials. The more valuable or bizarre the item, the more blood it yields.

Blood Vials serve a single, critical purpose: they’re the currency for character upgrades.

At designated Upgrade Stations, the player can spend blood to enhance core attributes, unlock passive traits, and evolve their survival potential. Whether it’s raw strength, stamina recovery, resistances, or unique abilities - progress runs on blood.

Player Upgrades:

There are many character upgrades available to players from simpler health upgrades up to gravity gun enhancements that let you pick up enemies and throw them at others.

Here is a a quick summary list:

Character upgrades: hp/stamina/shield/carry weigh/thirst/hunger etc

Weapon upgrades: Damage/ammo/handling/accuracy etc

Special Skills: Paraglider, Divine Shield, Gravity Gun skills, Parasite Skill etc

Passive perks: Kills heal, Bullet penetrates, higher dmg from elements etc.

Gear and Artifacts:

Around the world player can find tons of useful gear at artifacts. From standard +5 armor chest pieces, through spiked helms that reflect damage back to enemies, to vampiric artifact that grant life steal or power boots that change dash ability into stomp. Some other noticeable abilities from gear:

  • Deal 10% more dmg if you have full hp

  • Deal 1% more dmg for each 10% of missing total health.

  • Heal 1 hit point for each 5 armor lost

  • Deal 5% of your current armor as damage to enemies each time you are hit by melee attack.

  • Each bullet that hits target regains you 1 armor

  • Dead enemies sometimes spawn edible critters

  • When under 30% hp, you reload 2x faster

More coming soon!

That's it for today but more info is coming soon. Stay tuned for new demo (end of January), new updates, new gameplay trailers and other exciting news!

Have a great Holidays!
