Notice on the Development Direction of Food Wagon and Upcoming Beta Channel
Food Wagon · published
Hello everyone,
We are Luminous Tales, the development team behind Food Wagon.
Currently, Food Wagon is in its Early Access (EA) phase, and we have been thinking deeply about the future direction of the game.
As some of you have pointed out, we haven't been able to provide frequent updates lately. This is because
we reached the conclusion that we cannot deliver fully satisfying content using the current format and systems.
Through your valuable feedback, we keenly realized the need for significant changes to address several issues:
The persistent problems with wagon management, such as clunky controls and unnatural content flow,
The tendency for the game to feel monotonous after progressing past a certain point,
And the lack of replay value.
To improve upon this, we are planning a complete overhaul of the core combat mechanics,
And we are reworking the game so that the main concept of "cooking" blends much more naturally into the gameplay.
However, to make these changes happen, we will need to temporarily pause the regular updates to the live version that we promised during EA.
Furthermore, since it wouldn't be appropriate to push these experimental changes directly to the live channel, we have decided to open a Beta channel.
Here are the details regarding this transition:
Improvement updates for the current live version will be paused for now.
However, we will still provide immediate hotfixes for any critical errors or game-breaking bugs.
We will reorganize both the currently implemented features and those planned for the future, keeping only the essentials.
Our goal is to develop a new Food Wagon that allows players to focus entirely on the core gameplay experience.
We anticipate it will take some time to prepare the initial build,
And we ask for your understanding as we cannot yet confirm an exact opening date for the Beta channel.
In the meantime, we will upload devlogs whenever we make significant progress.
Once we reach a stage where the game is ready to be shown, we will announce the schedule and open the Beta channel without further delays.
We promise to return with a much better Food Wagon.
With gratitude,
Luminous Tales
