All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

This patch focuses on animation sync and network optimization.

Animation Sync:

  • In the last update we improved animation locking so that the player could cast again immediately after the current spell is fired. All abilities have received a pass to ensure they align spell cast aligns with the animation timing.
  • Ability animation speeds have been increased to improve casting responsiveness.
  • Round 5 abilities now have a buff effect and sound notification to draw more attention to their cast. These spells have the longest wind up and must often continue to be aimed once the hotkey is pressed.

Network improvements:

  • Reduced number of objects the host must replicate to other players.
  • Adjusted net priority and net frequency for critical and non-critical gameplay actors.
  • Adjusted platform settings to reduce server replication load.

Abilities

  • Terra Lance returns! The original Terra Lance ability has returns as a melee/brawling focused ability spawning a cone of spikes in front of the caster. The ability has been updated to spawn the spikes significantly faster and now also creates a shield around the player reducing damage taken.

Too little knockback and the ability felt the same. Too much and players went soaring across the arena, and not in a fu…
