Attention, soldiers! The battlefields are covered in snow, and the holidays have brought both cheer and reinforcements. With our Christmas Event, a brand-new map, time limited christmas map versions, and a couple of tweaks, there’s plenty to report. Let’s dive into the details:
🎅 Winter Offensive Event
For a limited time, all your favorite maps have been transformed into Christmas-themed winter battlefields, complete with snow, festive decorations, and seasonal cheer!
Santa Hat
Gear up with the festive Santa Hat—available to everyone during the event. This special item will be disabled after the event ends, so make sure to use it on the battlefield while you can!
🗺️ Brand-New Winter Map - The Pit
We’re excited to deploy a completely new winter-themed map.
At the center of the map is a large pit filled with wooden plank structures that create vertical combat opportunities. The pit is surrounded by ruins for cover and tactical positioning, with a dense forest forming the outer boundary of the area. Get ready for intense combat in a truly immersive and a bit chaotic winter setting!
Available Permanently
This isn’t just for the event! This new map will remain a permanent addition to the game.
🔫Gameplay Tweaks
While focused on the event, version 2.1 brings a couple of smaller changes.
- Winchester Shotgun Buff: The Winchester turned out to be a little bit too weak. This shotgun now packs more punch — especially in close-quarters combat.
- Projectile Effect Speed Increased: Projectile particles now move faster, improving the feel and responsiveness.
- Game files compression: The game's file size has been reduced by ~50%
- Minor bug fixes.
- Map tweaks.
🛠️Dedicated Servers in the Works
We’ve heard your feedback loud and clear about the lobby system. Currently, the most severe issues with it are:
- When the host leaves, everyone gets disconnected.
- Poor internet connection from the host leads to lag and frustration for all players.
To address this, we’re actively working on Dedicated Servers for a more stable and seamless experience. They’re not ready just yet, but this is a top priority for us, and we’ll keep you updated as development progresses.
The primary reason we initially built the game using a lobby system was due to limited funding. By enabling players to host games themselves, we ensured the game could remain playable indefinitely without the need for costly, officially maintained servers.
The lobby system will remain fully available and functional for everyone, even after the launch of Dedicated Servers. We believe that offering both options will provide the best experience and flexibility for everyone.
