Performance and quality of life update 1.0.4

Sixty Four · published 8 Mar 2024, 04:22 UTC · build 13677128

I keep working on the updates to deal with the most prominent issues based on your feedback. This update addresses the main causes of the performance drops in the mid and late game. And there's something more for quality of life:

+ Limited the amount of sounds playing at the same time, except for the active ones, like teleporting. It should fix a problem in the late game when the sound was disappearing on some computers, followed by a performance drop
+ Big Fill Director update: now if a machine is near a Silo, Director points only to the Silo. This should greatly reduce visual noise, improve performance and make Fill Director more useful. Even without Silos it should perform better.
+ Silos don't waste their charge in the moment they are refilled. It gives them more autonomy, which is proportional to the number of machines around. Also there is no need to prefill the machines to make it more efficient.
+ Containment machines last three times as long on a single charge
+ Reworded descriptions for Material Streamer Towers to be more precise about their function
+ Conductor price scales much slower
+ Fixed tall machines visually disappearing in the bottom of the screen
+ Requirements for Red-Blue Rock achievement are changed.

Gradient wells used to act like a holy grail — once unlocked, they made the game much more linear. That’s no longer the case. Unlocking their full potential now requires exploration. The resources they extract are now based on a completely new resource distribution map.
