Going from feedback I get from either reviews or some comments I hear, it seems clear that not everyone knows where I'm headed with STANDBOX and what are my intents. So what is going on?

Nope! Not at all.
The game is being worked on and is still receiving updates and fixes. I've just released 1.02 in beta, and is going to go public soon, and I'm already working on 1.03.
Yet, I've very clearly announced in multiple places to not expect updates.
I'm not comfortable with the current trends of over-promising and under-delivering that we often see, both in indie games and AAA games. I have plans, I have lots of ideas. I have things I want to do, and things I want to improve. But I don't want to overshare those dreams and lead people to feel cheated if I'm not able or willing to realize them later on.
The only thing I can promise is the game as it exist in its current form. It is a finished product. I want to be clear with what I'm selling and what the player will be receiving. That's why I'm selling this game as a finished product and not an early access.
Past that, as long as I enjoy working on it and I have a vision for the game, I'll try to keep working on it.
Currently, multiple things are going on for the game:
I've been communicating a lot about what's going-on, but I mostly did it on the discord here and since not everyone is on the discord, perhaps it led some people to believe that I didn't care for this project. This is absolutely not the case.
Let me know if this form of communication can help. In the meantime, I'll always be reachable in the Steam Discussions or Discord.
