The beta has been a blast so far! I've loved being able to see everyone get to play around with the Goos and the teams that you guys have made. We have fixed a ton of bugs as well as changed some of the game balance. Lets walk through some of that. Feel free to skip down to the bottom if you just want to see the raw changes :)
The first thing I wanted to address was the early game was kind of boring. It was just rock vs rock in the first 2/3 turns. The seed bag has been moved up to a turn 0 item. This also will make it easier to change the seed into Frumptun as he can start growing a couple turns sooner. As well the Spray bottle will now come after the first turn, This means that on turn 2 there are 5 different goos that you can start to build your strategy around (Default, Rock, Flower, Seed, Moss).
The next major thing I wanted to address was goos that felt 'too strong' or 'too weak' Frumptun was the least used goo in the last update, by far, so they are getting a pretty good buff with some extra health and their item they drop now giving +4/+4 instead of +3/+3 Being able to get them sooner will also hopefully increase their usage. Mooshy and Brumpor had very high win rates in late rounds, Both of them have been given slight nerfs in the form of their item not applying before their mutation. This reduces the brumpors speed by -1 and the mushs starting attack by 5. As well the mushroom summons have been nerfed. The idea of the mushroom summons was to be 'cannon fodder' and not something that can take a hit and then also do some damage. They are now slower, lower attack, no longer have shields and have a bit more HP.
The last major balance thing you will notice is that round 1 is no longer a 'free win'. The free win was stopping the bubble goo and crybaby goo from being able to be unlocked (You need to lose your first three matches to get the crybaby) As the bubble and crybaby were not in the last meta I'm very curious to see how the integrate!
Thank you guys so much for participating in the beta so far! Tons of more fixes and improvements are in the works! Look forward to Goo Gangs, more bug fixes and more balance coming next Wednesday.
As always, Let me know if you have any questions or comments.
