After confirming in beta, the fix for Ovrlay has been released to all users. There is now a quick one-time setup with instructions that will launch when you start Ovrlay.
As a reminder, you can set Ovrlay to automatically start when you run SteamVR by going to SteamVR > Settings > Startup / Shutdown > Choose Startup Overlay Apps.
