This week we’re adding the Medic-Bot. As general purpose repair bots, they are able to heal units and buildings alike. Use them as support units to fill out your usual squad, build a specialty support squad and go around healing, or position medic-bots around the map and they’ll automatically heal you when you move into range. The unique ability of the medic unit will make them a useful companion for many play styles. Remember, they are able to repair any ally units they come across whether they are in your squad or not.
All factions can use the medic-bot, but the Geometic and Fromptech factions will start with a medic-bot unit in their squad. Otherwise, the medic-bot can be built for 30 gp in the tier 2 barracks. They come equipped with a mid range welder for healing, and brutal saw that deals as much melee damage as the Biomass’ scythe, so don’t get too close to enemy medic-bots.
In addition to the medic bot’s healing feature we’ve implemented a preliminary support ai. Features like this require a lot of behind the scenes work, so this is the sole focus of this week's update. Soon, we will be moving away from the weekly updates to tackle larger scale challenges, such as the in-game map, campaign mode, new levels, and more.
