Tormenture receives a major update

We're excited to share that a new patch has just gone live. It brings a host of fixes, usability improvements, and full support for both Chinese and Catalan languages.

This update also includes significant optimization work, especially for lower-end systems, resulting in performance boosts of up to 300%. Tormenture is also now fully compatible with Steam Deck, running smoothly at 60 FPS on Ultra settings.

  • Improved overall menu navigation and added a new "back" sound cue
  • Introduced a new Input Settings menu with sensitivity sliders and a full input remapping system

  • Batteries now correctly disappear after use
  • Improved item grabbing system for better interaction with 3D objects
  • Fixed an issue where the wooden box wouldn’t open after inserting both pieces
  • Optimized visual fidelity of some environment objects
  • Enhanced behavior of book-type 3D items
  • Added extra zoom functionality when inspecting the Guess Who game

  • Minor layout adjustments
  • Fixed a potential softlock after the orange lock door

  • Improved clarity at the end of the Artist Room sequence

  • Fixed enemies occasionally moving through walls
  • Addressed visual glitches during the Ruins boss 3D sequence

  • Minor layout tweaks in several rooms
  • All interactables are now functional in darkness
  • Fixed a phone maze exploit that allowed players to bypass it
  • Resolved an issue where pushable blocks couldn’t be moved after being caught by a phone maze hand
  • Fixed abnormal behavior with blinds and ceiling lamps

  • Final Boss hitbox now behaves correctly during teleportation
  • Addressed a potential softlock during the second phase of the Final Boss

  • Multiple localization bugs fixed
  • Added full Catalan and Chinese language support

  • Fixed an issue where items became ungrabbable if the currently held item was destroyed
  • Solved occasional music dropouts
  • Added subtitles in key moments to enhance understanding across languages
  • Massive performance improvements on lower-end systems (up to +300%)
  • Fully Steam Deck compatible, now running Ultra at 60+ FPS
  • Added a new zoom mechanic for better visibility of held 3D objects on smaller screens
  • Various other minor fixes and improvements
