Chaos Chain
Hey everyone!
I just wanted to stop by and show everyone what I've been working on over the past few days. Everything here is still a work in progress, but I'm fairly happy with how it's turning out so far.
First of all, I have rearranged some of the (unfinished) districts on the (mainly West side) of the map compared to what we currently have in the live build of the game. I feel like it helps more evenly distribute larger (planned) areas and gives a bit better progression for the areas in general.
I've also begun working on a new subdistrict - the Smoldering Pits.
This area is much different from other locations built thus far as it's not residential, industrial, or commercial like the rest, it's mainly just a giant garbage dump. Constantly alight with smoldering trash and a terrible stench that follows. I wanted to showcase the pollution and air quality issues over the sprawl as more than just text based lore. This area is meant to be ugly, dirty, disgusting, etc. Not a clean or good place to be.
I have some interesting plans for this area and things that you'll be able to do there, so I'm excited to continue working on it. The area isn't as large as some of the other districts, but I think the area concept itself really fits the vibe of the game. That said, I hope to have the area itself ready soon!
