More Automations - CD Market Update v1.2.0

CD Market - Music Label Sim · published 29 Aug 2026, 14:47 UTC · build 25010221

Update notes:

  • Merch executive: you can now automate merch releases. You are able to assign artists to a merch executive which will create merch sets automatically after each release

  • Merch suppliers now work differently, instead of being based on industry recognition. You can now access all of them BUT the prices they offer will lower with the more quantity you order. So you will have to bet on your artists on selling big quantities and save some $ or take a miss and lose $

  • Many UI changes, including a different display of stars, better scouting filters modal (includes the fix to the bug where regions were not visible), etc.

  • Demo session artists selector now shows if they are unavailable and the reason why

  • Auto-select buttons added to tours, you can now get help from the tour executive on selecting tour dates. Also added more info in date selection screen. Including cost per seat, forecast and other data

  • Bigger venues will now cost more per seat. So they make more sense when you need to fit big crowds.

  • Own stores, "request deal" is not a thing anymore, they are done automatically by the distribution executive, which according to his rating, and your stores market share, will improve deals as time passes by

  • You are now able to renegotiate store deals, you will set an expiration date for the deal and a % of how much they take from each sale. Deals can be improved the more sales you got, as they respect you more.

  • Bug: fixed the low stock on merch as it fired when it was not actually zero

  • Merch selector now displays unavailable artists and the reason why, so you can know what's going on

  • New release screen now shows singles before album, as the most common case is single, like, 4 singles, 1 promo, 1 album, you need 5 releases of singles vs 1 album. So the default option for a new release is now singles

  • Contract royalties now start around the middle, so it's easier to set them up, instead of starting on default values (something like what I did with release prices)

  • Marketing campaigns can now be targeted towards sales or recognition. So for a starting artist you can for for recognition and someone already known you can go for sales boost

  • Now PR events are based on performance: it works like this, if you do a small event, you will always get its full effect, but if you do a medium event with a very bad rating, then you will not get its full effect. This increments for bigger events, so for a enormous event, you will need bigger performance ratings to get its full effects (wouldn't recommend enormous events for small artists anymore)

  • Template: fixed a bug where the international tv show couldn't get its values changed

  • Starting a new career for an artist calculates differently the phase he is starting with, basically rerolls, same with global artists, they don't start anymore on growth phase

  • Templates: did some improvements on the editor, apart from UI changes, now it shouldn't get "stuck" like it did in some cases.

  • Added "EP" on help section

  • More than 1 artist (3 now) per release executive at the same time

  • Bug: fixed an issue with release execs being able to demo and record while band was chilling

  • Expanded the game default content from 2020 to 2030

  • Templates: You can set future styles years, so you can set that the template goes from 1950 to 2100 and provide content for each style during all those years (with anchor points). You can change both the minimum and maximum (cannot go under 1950 though...)

  • Bug: fixed a typo on stores negotiations

  • Minimum required production is now shown in the release screen, and how much did you take back from it. Just like publishers. Release "Own distribution" now shows detailed on each item that was inside it.

  • Removed + and - from enhancements, just press the squares, also added a button to set them automatically by the tour executive

  • You can now change the label name, it will start a rebranding campaign just like when renaming artists. To do this go to Label history and press the pencil next to the label name. If you fail to do the rebranding campaign in time, you lose a % of your recognition

  • When you get an artist from a rival label, now you keep his discography visible (they can be seen in discography screen, they are not releases as the rights are kept to the previous rival label)

  • Repeat indefinitely toggle added to PR events

  • Rework: PR events now have a different UI, the set focus is now simpler and doesn't require you to change it all the time, you set priorities on artists

  • Rework: random music headlines, there was some fake headlines that didn't make much sense being in early eras

  • Finances now displays a ranked list of records, tickets and merch being sold, on current week

  • In releases screen you can now see more easily which releases can have a deluxe, anniversary, live edition

  • Scouted recognition is now shown in inform data (part of interview)

  • Bug: fixed a crash related to writers disappearing

  • Market Research now shows styles and formats trends

There was something wrong structurally. Prices of formats were not being represented as they should on sales. This could affect greatly the balance. Release prices / manufacturer / merch prices adjusted for 50s / 60s, they were not scaled correctly. 50s and 60s were a late feature before release so I'm still working them out. -…
