Greetings, underworld envoys! Long time no see!
We want to express our heartfelt thanks for all your incredible support—sales for Reap and Rush have officially crossed 30,000+ units!
As we mentioned at launch, we are just a small group of developers who came together out of a shared passion for games. As our very first indie title, the game went through countless rounds of overhauls and redesigns—from its early working title, Rest in Peace, to the final version you see today. This process of constant trial and refinement was a profound learning experience for our entire team. Fortunately, we were able to bring our vision to life and give the game its own distinct style.
In the half-month since launch, we’ve received over 570+ Steam reviews, along with invaluable feedback and critiques across various platforms and communities. We read every single comment. Although our team size is limited, we have been working at full speed to implement the optimizations and fixes you've suggested, and our bug/fix backlog is steadily shrinking.
Many players have asked how Busy Underworld came to be. Its precursor was actually an early, unreleased prototype titled zombie vs. Plants. Later, we decided to draw inspiration from Chinese mythology and bring classic childhood memories into the game world. The architectural and visual style is set roughly 15 to 20 years behind the present day to evoke a sense of retro nostalgia. Through this fantastical and surreal underworld, we hoped to help everyone rediscover a bit of carefree childhood warmth. To be frank, we packed a lot of old-school memes and deadpan humor into the game during development—and looking back now, our execution was certainly a bit rough and unpolished (TAT). We’ve taken all your critiques to heart and will continue to refine the experience.
Please grant us a little more time! We will keep updating and optimizing the game in the days ahead to make sure we don't let any of you down. Thank you all once again for your patience, kindness, and love!
Most importantly, we’d love to share a sneak peek at the direction of our upcoming DLC updates:
