Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt arrives on August 13th.
Stretching for approximately 90 km between Nürnberg Hbf and Ingolstadt Hbf, this dedicated high-speed railway cuts through the Bavarian landscape using sweeping curves, steep gradients and an extensive series of tunnels.
It is the fastest German route in Train Sim World to date and the first to support the full 300 km/h operating speed. Take the DB BR 403 ICE 3 faster than ever before as you accelerate through the countryside and experience the route at full pace.
Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt began life as a Public Editor project created by Corin “Pilot21” Sachse. Corin later joined Train Sim Germany, where the team helped bring the project across the finish line, polishing and expanding the route while adding the rolling stock and gameplay needed for its full Train Sim World release.
What started as an ambitious community project has grown into Train Sim World’s fastest German route to date.
Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt includes two distinct ways to experience modern German high-speed rail.
Reach the full 300 km/h route speed aboard the DB BR 403 ICE 3, presented in its complete red-stripe livery.
The included ICE 3 also features updated passenger information screens and improved acceleration audio, helping bring greater detail and atmosphere to every high-speed run.
For a different driving experience, take control of the original, non-Expert DB BR 101 in a weathered DB red livery.
Paired with München-Nürnberg-Express coaches and cab car, the DB BR 101 offers regional express gameplay at speeds of up to 200 km/h. Drive with the locomotive leading or operate from the cab car as you connect Nürnberg, Kinding and Ingolstadt.
Please note that the included DB BR 101 is the original, non-Expert version.
Away from the dedicated high-speed railway, a short section of the Nürnberg S-Bahn between Nürnberg Hbf and Feucht introduces a contrasting style of operation.
Slow things down, tackle more frequent station stops and experience the busy approaches to Nürnberg before returning to the open high-speed line.
Together, the ICE, regional express and S-Bahn gameplay provide three very different perspectives on the railway around Nürnberg.
For experienced drivers looking for even more depth, Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt offers additional functionality when Expert Mode is enabled.
Players who own the Expert DB BR 101 & IC Steuerwagen Loco Add-On, available separately, can use its full Expert feature set with the included München-Nürnberg-Express formation. This extends to the cab car, with the same detailed fault functionality as the Expert IC cab car, alongside simulated batteries and train line power that will need to be managed throughout your journey.
Expert Mode also adds an additional layer of challenge to the included DB BR 403 ICE 3, introducing a selection of faults based on Expert systems.
These can include:
Transformer failure, reducing the train to half power
ASG overheating, reducing traction power on an affected car
ASG failure, resulting in complete loss of traction on the affected car
Eddy current brake faults
EP brake faults, increasing brake application and release times
LZB transmission failure
BordNetz train line power faults
These faults are part of the route’s dedicated Expert functionality and are separate from Train Sim World’s standard game-wide Train Faults.
The Expert DB BR 101 is compatible additional content and is not included with Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt.

These layers introduce additional trains and traffic across the route, with Schnellfahrstrecke Köln - Aachen playing a particularly important role in bringing additional S-Bahn traffic to the Nürnberg section.
Compatible rolling stock also includes the DB BR 401 ICE 1, DB BR 411 ICE-T and additional DB BR 101 liveries, giving existing players even more variety across both high-speed and regional operations.
