Hey everyone!
We're here today to update you on the game and what we're working on. But first things first: thank you all so, so much for playing Stackmon, and for sharing your thoughts and opinions! It has been amazing to see all the posts and stories you've been sharing with us on socials and our Discord, and it warms our hearts to see so many people enjoying the game we've poured our hearts into making. 🥳
We've been receiving a lot of feedback on balancing, features and improvements, as well as bug reports. While our team and the playtesters have done the best we could to catch all of them (no pun intended) before release, there is a lot that only starts to appear once we have thousands of people giving it a go.
We are reading every single review and report that you've been sharing, and doing our best to address all the we can, as fast as we can! Here are some of the fixes and changes that we've already implemented since release earlier this week:
Added a new alternate font option for easier reading.
Added an option to increase visibility during nighttime.
Changed fast-forward toggle key from Alt to Ctrl.
Added a visual counter next to structure cards, and increased their amount of uses.
Added a save backup system, and solved many issues related to saving and loading.
Adjusted drop rates of some cards.
Increased the capacity of Storage cards.
Fixed many issues related to the Stackpedia that caused loss of progress or affected tracking of Stackmon found, caught and their properties. We have also worked with players affected by these bugs to restore their progression.
Fixed localization issues.
Fixed game freezes/crashes/soft-locks, including those related to Soot Rifts.
Other fixes and tweaks, which you can read in our patch notes.
And here are some of the other things that we are working to fix and change, thanks to player feedback and reports:
Option to pick up and drag cards without needing to hold a button.
Improvements to UI scaling for better visibility.
Improvements to card release behavior so players can more consistently drop cards where intended.
Adjustments to gamepad controls.
Pre-evolved wild Stackmon having much higher attributes than those evolved by the player.
Shiny Stackmon losing their perfect attributes upon evolution.
Achievement unlocking issues.
Other reported freezes/crashes, bugs, balance adjustments (including Stun dominance) and quality-of-life improvements. Keep them coming and we'll keep working on them!
We are continuing to track issues and will be releasing regular patches as we work on them. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this process, as we are a small indie team and there's only so much we can manage to do at once. Please rest assured that we are doing all that we can to respond to individual issues and to make your time in Gaia the best it can be!
If you have any issues with the game, or suggestions for improvements, don't forget you can reach us directly through the Stackmon Discord server, and we can help you out directly there as well. And if you are enjoying the game, please consider leaving a review; it really helps us and makes a big difference! Thank you so much for playing Stackmon, sharing your experiences with us and for being a part of this growing community!
