Yo Agents, it's time to get back in the Abyss! We've been busy adding a whole lot more to the Abyss as we storm on through our Early Access programme! We know, it's a Sunday - weird time for an update, right?
But with the Free Weekend currently happening, we wanted to give all those new Agents out there a little taste of what's happening in Neon Abyss 2. Don't forget, if you are ready to throw down some investment capital, Black Dog are giving 20% off Neon Abyss 2 until June 18!
We've got four main parts to the default branch coming at you today:
The New Black Dog Bar
A Brand New Agent: Tino
A New Manager Boss: Dark Aphrodite
A New Regular Boss: God of Graffiti
The whole team at Veewo has been working ultra hard to raise the bar… and we don’t just mean on quality. Welcome to the all-new Black Dog Bar. To evade the clutches of Titan Group’s investigation, the team have relocated the Black Dog Bar to a remote desert area, hiding the Agent-filled action well beneath the undulating dunes.
Throughout Early Access we have given you more agents than you could shake a catgun at. R-7, Cassie and Mira have all joined the party, and now they’re super psyched to introduce you to Tino. A street-dwelling rapper whose pockets are always brimming with wonder, Tino uses melody and flow to blast a trail through the neon-drenched chaos.
His power lets Tino duplicate Wonder Jars (at the cost of a little life), and we hope you folks are going to show him a warm welcome down there!
Aphrodite already entered the Abyss in previous updates, but with a leaden edge, this new boss offers a new fight. Are you scared of the dark? Maybe you should be?
Aphrodite turns love on its head, weaving fantasies and desires to bewitch players and lead you to your doom. Can you break from her spell long enough to gain the upper hand? The journey to victory is lit by the neon lights of the Abyss, with the soft glow caressing Dark Aphrodite’s alluring silhouette. Each one of your hastening heartbeats is an offering at her altar - maybe it’s best to just stop beating altogether?
Unlock: Defeat regular Aphrodite.
Challenge: Defeat Hermes to enter next floor while having at least 10 Hatchmons.
You better hope and spray you have a chance of defeating him. Prepare for a brush up (ok that’s the last of the painting puns) with destiny with the God of Graffiti. Use a special strategy or just spray and pray (ok that’s actually the last one)
To get prepped for part of the next MAJOR update, we’ve opened testing for the new Storm Raid game mode on the Beta branch as well - we also added a new switch function to the main menu to help players get over to the Beta Branch much easier..
Storm Raid is a faster, more streamlined mode with no dungeon exploration. Instead, you’ll focus on blasting your way through, entering battles, gaining upgrades, and pushing through stage after stage as the challenge ramps up.
Try it out and let us know your feedback, issues, and suggestions so we can keep improving the mode.
We've already begun work on the full version - it's a huge amount of content as well as development and optimisation across different platforms (say no more - wink wink). As such this stage of development is going to be in flux, and we don't want to make promised dates for you and then miss them.
We'll be releasing updates regularly around internal milestones from now until the 1.0 version launches, and we'll keep you in the loop as to what's happening over on social media and in Discord, too.
