Patch: Low Disk Space Warning

Acting Out Demo · published 23 Jul 2026, 06:05 UTC

All eventsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Hey all,

We have just pushed an update that includes a pop-up warning if you are too low on disk space to record. This issue was sometimes causing videos to not render, resulting in Preparing forever or a black screen in the theatre.

For now, we ask you set aside 2GB to give the game space for recording and rendering out movies. (Most movies require 0.3 - 1.0GB each, and are compressed afterwards)

It will check when the game launches, when you change save drive in options and when you press G to Ready before filming a scene.

Please let us know if you run into any issues with this new feature.

Thanks to @RandomCactus from the Discord community for helping us identify the issue!

[edit]

The first version of this patch had a bug that stopped movie rendering files from being cleared up. Your movie folder (C:/ProgramData/ActingOutGame/VideoCaptures or your chosen drive) will have folders with .jpegs and .wavs in them.

These are rendering files for the movie, but are meant to be deleted upon completion of rendering by the game.

The fix is now live. If you had these rendering files, you can safely delete them yourselves.

With Love,

Winston and Jeff
