Hey everyone, and welcome. I'm Luca, solo developer of About Frontlines, a 1v1 turn-based strategy game built on total freedom. This community page is here so players, testers, and anyone curious about the game have a place to talk directly with me and with each other. Whether you're here for updates, to report a bug, to share an idea, or just to lurk before launch, you're in the right place. I'll be checking often the Steam Community page of the game to identify and prioritize fixes, improvements, balancing, and new features. So just leave a post to help me improving the game!
About Frontlines is a sandbox strategy engine that ships with WWII. At launch you get a WWII scenario: tanks, infantry, artillery, and battlefields ready to fight over. But underneath that scenario is a complete set of creation tools. You can design your own maps, build your own units, and set your own rules of engagement. Once those tools are in your hands, nothing stops you from building WWI trenches, Napoleonic lines, Roman legions, or wars that haven't happened yet.The game is built for blitz, tense, tactical matches rather than long campaigns (but up to you to create a long campaign!). You can play against AI to sharpen your tactics, challenge a friend directly, or jump into online matchmaking through Steam.Key features:
Multiple ways to play: vs. AI, vs. friends, or online matchmaking
WWII at launch, with the full scenario building toolset included
Build your own units, maps, and scenarios for any era or theme
Clean, minimalist 2D design that stays easy to read no matter how complex the battle gets
A game meant to grow through new scenarios over time
Sharing thoughts, questions, or feedback on the game as it develops
Reporting bugs or issues once you get hands on with a build
Discussing strategy, unit design, and scenario ideas
Getting early looks at devlogs, screenshots, and progress updates
Connecting with other players who are into turn-based strategy
Be respectful. Disagreement is fine, hostility isn't.
Keep feedback constructive. If something's not working for you, tell me why, that's genuinely useful.
No spam or unrelated self-promotion.
Bug reports and suggestions are always welcome, here or wherever else I've shared for that purpose.
I'll be around in here regularly. Thanks for joining early, it means a lot to have people interested before the game's even out. Feel free to introduce yourself below and let me know what pulled you in.
See you on the frontlines.
