THE DEADLINE DEMO IS OUT
You are a blot of ink on an unfinished page. Everything you do leaves a permanent line behind you — and that line is solid. It's your bridge, your staircase, and eventually your problem: draw yourself into a corner and the page is done with you.
You're not scored on time. You're scored on ink — how much line the solution took. Par is a stroke length, and gold means drawing less than I did.
The demo is free, and it's live right now.
WHAT'S IN IT
Chapter One — First Marks: ten hand-drawn pages that teach the whole language of ink.
The Playground: a no-pressure page for just messing with the mechanics.
The complete level editor — every hazard, contraption and chaser from the full game, including ones the demo campaign never introduces. Not a cut-down version.
Versus: one player is the Ink, the other takes the mouse and plays the Eraser, deleting your platforms out from under you.
The Pen Case: characters, drawn accessories, and a full ink mixer.
Chapter One's opening story flipbook.
NOTHING YOU MAKE IS WASTED
Every page you write in the demo editor is still yours in the full game, and so is your progress. That's why the demo has the whole toolbox: a half-empty editor just means building something and having to rebuild it later. If you spend an evening making a page, I'd rather you made the real thing.
WHAT'S IN THE FULL GAME
70 pages across seven chapters, including two on black midnight paper. Steam Workshop, so you can publish your pages and subscribe to everyone else's. Eight gold-gated B-sides for players who want the page to fight back. Online versus, One Sitting mode, ghost racing, and leaderboards on every page.
DEADLINE launches October 27. Until then the demo is free, and I'm reading everything — if you get stuck somewhere, tell me and I'll go look at that page.
Ink is permanent. Choose your lines carefully. ✒️
