We are pleased to announce that the Multi-Character (Beta) feature has now been officially released! After its open beta period, the feature that lets you display multiple characters on your desktop at the same time is now available to everyone. We hope you'll give it a try!
【How to Use the Multi-Character Feature】
Right-click a character and select "Change Character."
Press the "Multi-Character (Beta)" toggle button at the top of the screen to turn the Multi-Character feature on.
Select the character you'd like to appear as the second character, and they will show up on your desktop.
【Notes on Usage】
Currently, you can display up to two characters at the same time.
For details on which character combinations can be displayed with the Multi-Character feature, please refer to each character's store page.
In addition, certain character combinations feature special movements such as combo actions. For details on these as well, please refer to each character's store page.
Please note that there are two separate volume settings, "Individual Volume" and "Master Volume," even when only one character is displayed.
We apologize, but the Mac version is not yet supported. Support is planned for a future update, so please bear with us a little longer.
【Bug Fixes】
Fixed an issue where per-character voice settings were not saved correctly.
Fixed a bug on the Mac version where switching virtual desktops would cause the app to become unresponsive.
Made some fixes to the UI behavior on the settings screen.
【Regarding the End of the Open Beta (multi_character branch)】
Up until now, the Multi-Character feature has been available for you to try via a preview version called the "multi_character" branch (on Steam, these special test versions are referred to as "branches").
With this official release, the "multi_character" branch will no longer be provided and will be completely removed. To everyone who took part in the open beta test, thank you so much for your help!
After the branch is removed, we expect that you will automatically be switched back to the regular public version. However, in the unlikely event that this does not happen, please follow the steps below to switch to the public version manually.
In your Steam library, right-click "Desktop Mate" and click "Properties...".
Open "Game Versions & Betas" in the left-hand menu.
Under "Selected Game Version," select "Default Public Version" (Most common version of the game).
Along with this, support for the following topic threads, which were provided for the open beta test, will also basically come to an end.
