Ticker Panic has received a major presentation and progression update with v0.4.13 — Market Terminal Redesign.
This update focuses on making the game clearer, sharper, and more satisfying to play, with a redesigned dashboard, a new boot menu, improved save/load flow, expanded progression systems, shop unlocks, and more polished controls.
The biggest change is the overall presentation.
The dashboard has been redesigned around a darker graphite / market-terminal style, with cleaner panels, sharper red and green market feedback, stronger highlights, and a more readable layout.
The result is a cleaner trading dashboard that better matches the fast, chaotic energy of Ticker Panic.
Ticker Panic now opens into a new boot menu before entering the main dashboard.
The boot menu includes:
Continue
New Run
Load Game
Settings
Quit
Market overview display
News/ticker-style presentation elements
This gives the game a stronger first impression and makes it easier to start, continue, or manage a run.
Save handling has been improved with better access to:
Latest valid save
Quick save
Manual saves
New run confirmation
This makes it easier to continue a run, start fresh, or manage save options from the new boot menu.
The achievement popup has been expanded into a fuller Progression Hub.
Achievements and shop progression now live in one cleaner interface, making it easier to see what you have earned, what you are working toward, and what upgrades are available.
The shop system is now in place.
Earned points can be spent on unlocks, and owned purchases save between sessions. Some unlocks now affect gameplay directly, including speed and pause-related controls.
This is an important step toward giving each run more long-term structure and progression.
Several unlocks now have direct gameplay behavior attached.
Current examples include:
Speed x2 and x4 progression
Speed x4 requiring Speed x2 first
Pause Control affecting dashboard pause behavior
Auto-Pause Major Events requiring the related unlock and setting
This gives progression more impact during active play and sets up future unlocks to feel more meaningful.
The menu and settings flow has also been improved.
Recent work includes:
Cleaner settings layout
Fullscreen/windowed support
Escape shortcut behavior
Music and system action controls
Cleaner hub navigation
More consistent terminal-style UI controls
These changes make the game easier to navigate while keeping the interface closer to the market-terminal style.
A lot of dashboard readability and usability improvements are included as well:
Cleaner selected-stock info
Improved top stat cards
Better order controls
More readable asset rows
Cleaner Player Log behavior
Improved Market Events display
Chart header controls
TP Composite market overview elements
These changes are mostly about readability, flow, and feel. The dashboard should be easier to understand at a glance while still keeping the chaotic market energy that Ticker Panic is built around.
This update also starts laying the groundwork for future visual themes and music packs.
The early foundation is now being built into the project so future updates can add more style, mood, and unlockable presentation options.
The rest of the v0.4 cycle will continue focusing on presentation, themes, music, and player experience.
Planned follow-up work includes:
Additional visual theme support
Theme unlocks through the shop
Better pairing between visual themes and music packs
Final tuning for the default Market Open theme
More polish for the selected-stock detail area
Real candlestick chart mode
Better tooltip and tutorial support once the UI layout is more settled
The goal for v0.4 is to make Ticker Panic feel clearer, more stylish, and easier to navigate before the next major gameplay systems pass.
After the v0.4 presentation pass, the next major focus is v0.5 — Stock Personality & Market Simulation Tuning.
This phase will focus more on how the market behaves.
Planned work includes:
Giving stocks more distinct behavior
Adding per-asset volatility profiles
Improving liquidity and volume feel
Adding broader market regimes
Making market events clearer and more meaningful
Improving how trades impact different assets
Adding better event inspection and impact explanations
The goal for v0.5 is to make the market feel less uniform and more reactive, while still keeping the fast arcade pace that Ticker Panic is built around.
v0.4.13 is a major step toward the intended feel of Ticker Panic.
The focus has been making the game cleaner, more readable, more stylish, and easier to navigate while keeping the pressure and chaos of the core trading loop intact.
From here, development will continue in two directions: finishing the remaining presentation/theme work in v0.4, then moving into deeper stock behavior, market events, and simulation tuning in v0.5.
