An update on BOLD: Networked Newt Action's Release Date

Hey gang, I'm sorry to have to make the first ever announcement post in the BOLD Steam news feed be for a delay, but I feel it's important to make this clear now:

Going forward, the release date for BOLD: Networked Newt Action is being delayed from October 30th 2026 to Early December 2026.

Without getting too into details, I (Mae L'Heroeck, the director of the project) have missed a few vital personal deadlines due to reasons both in and out of my control. At the current pace, releasing the game in October immediately following Next Fest (where my goal is still to ship a demo for October) will leave critical parts of the game undercooked.

Being able to have an extra month of dev time will enable us to crush the following milestones with minimal drama:

  • lethal drop tech and site rework (current task)

  • story unlockable/codex progression

  • grenade rework

  • additional map interactions

  • some fun maps

We are still confident in releasing both a demo for Next Fest and meeting this new December launch window.

As a tease, here's some screenshots from the map I'm just now getting in the can: VG_Cyberia, a converted church turned nightclub that plays really hardcore techno for a really hip young crowd.

See you in the field, Agents.- Mae L'Heroeck
