Overtrick launched on Monday, and tons of challengers have stormed the House of Diamonds! If you’ve managed to defeat Ada and Zelda, congratulations, and well played!
But in the Hearts Tourney, you’ll find some new opponents, including the proprietors of the House of Spades: Leopold and Reginald.
Next week, you’ll find Leopold and Reginald in the Clubhouse. They can be a tricky pair to take on, so be careful during the Small Slam and Grand Slam!
While many other characters’ designs originate from 1920s fashion prints, Leopold and Reginald were inspired by photos from the era. I tried to stay true to the style of other characters, while also putting my own unique spin on them!
I also addressed several issues reported by players, including:
Steam Deck fixes for Swap and Mirror Mirror. Fixed an issue with Swap, where gamepad controller and Steam Deck players were unable to trade more than 1 card from each hand. Also updated Mirror Mirror to make it easier to see which card is selected.
Windowed Mode. You can now set the “Display Mode” in the options menu, so you can easily switch between fullscreen and windowed mode.
Volume Sliders. The sliders in the options menu now ignore mouse scrolling (sorry to everyone who accidentally changed the volume as they scrolled through the menu!).
Toggle Off Background Visual Effects. For players who don’t like the background shimmer effect in the Shop and in Overtrick Mode, you can now turn it off in the options menu.
Reward Card Stamps. Several cards guarantee you the 8 and 9 of a suit (“Hidden Gems,” “Super Spades,” “Clubs are Wild,” or “Hearts in Harmony”), but sometimes the Reward for a Small or Grand Slam would include cards with the 8/9 stamp, even if you had these cards (which isn’t much of a reward). This should almost never happen now.
Demo Achievements. Players who had played the demo a lot reported certain achievements being permanently locked for them, even after purchasing the full game. This update should now unlock those achievements for those players, and guards against the issue that was causing this.
