PATCH NOTES #3

Hi everyone,

Earlier today, we identified a way for a session host to remote crash other players’ games by spawning hundreds of entities. We have banned the players identified as abusing it and released a patch addressing the issue in this latest update.
Why didn’t we communicate immediately?

We wanted to establish the facts before making a public statement. We contacted the players involved, investigated the reports, and reviewed our network code to understand how the exploit was being used. This took the entire day, and during that time, we could not confidently confirm or dismiss the claims circulating online. So far, the only confirmed use we have identified is a host causing other players’ games to crash within their session. After contacting players and investigating the reports, we have found no evidence that this exploit has been used for any other purpose or to access players’ personal data.
We needed time to investigate. However, we should have let you know that we were investigating, even before we had all the answers. We apologize for leaving you without clear updates during that time.BODYCAM has performed incredibly well, far beyond our expectations, and we are grateful for the support from our community. Unfortunately, increased visibility can also attract people with bad intentions, whether through attempts to disrupt the game or spread misinformation to encourage review bombing.
We believe some individuals may be deliberately flooding our social channels with unverified claims to create fear and damage the studio’s reputation following this success. We remain focused on establishing the facts and taking players’ concerns seriously.
Progression and economy
One of your biggest complaints has been the economy: weapon attachments cost too much, and earning currency takes too long.Even before today’s incident, we had seen players turning to currency farming and exploits to progress at a reasonable pace. We addressed that problem in the wrong way. We focused on the symptoms without doing enough to fix the underlying issue: progression felt too slow.Today’s patch makes the following changes:

  • Restored currency earnings in private lobbies, allowing players to progress while playing with friends or bots.

  • Set private lobby earnings to 50% of the standard rate.

  • Reduced weapon attachment prices by 25–30%.

  • Fixed an exploit in Versus that allowed excessive currency gains.

BODYCAM is first and foremost a multiplayer PvP game, and we want public matches to remain the main path for progression. At the same time, players who prefer private sessions should still be able to earn currency and unlock equipment. Restoring private lobby rewards at 50% of the standard rate is our way of supporting those players while keeping public matches active. If too many players use private lobbies to farm currency faster than they could in public matches, fewer players are available for public matchmaking, making it harder to fill lobbies and keep matches flowing smoothly. These changes are a step toward making progression more rewarding and reducing the grind. We will continue monitoring your feedback and adjusting the economy. That said, we'll try to communicate better in the future, even when we don't have all the info. I just want to say congratulations to all the devs who, despite all the hate from the review bombing we received in the last 24 hours, managed to find solutions.Thank you for your support and for being direct with us about what needs to improve. Please check information before sharing it, follow our official updates, and report suspicious activity directly to our team.

Thanks !
