Arena has more ways to build, new reasons to take risks, and a round exit with a little more style.
Additions
- More build choices in Solo and Party: 18 hull specializations, 27 hull-specific augments, and six cross-Doctrine capstones. Choose one specialization, fit two augments, and combine up to two capstones per run.
- Banish unwanted upgrades: Earn one banish after 20 personal kills each round and remove an unwanted upgrade from that run's drafts.
- New combat rewards: Three Utility milestones, plus bonuses for well-timed shields, clean Comet return hits, and fighting inside the marked heat sweet spot.
- Optional encounters: Hunt a marked courier and its escort or overcharge a completed pylon. Success rewards every pilot with an upgrade, 12 CINDR, and a brief break from incoming waves.
- Surprise rounds: Brute-only, Sniper-only, Bosses-only, and a 20-second XP Surge full of collectible XP and score-awarding Mass XP.
- Rift Gate exits: Complete the round objective, reach the powered gate, and send your ship through a five-second escape into warp.
- New Utilities: Mega-Crit Matrix gives critical hits a 5% chance to deal 2-3x their normal critical damage. Recharge Cycler improves recovery, and Pylon Overdrive speeds up pylon charging.
- Volt Cutter's Live Circuit: Tesla attacks can now steal shields, with Arc Sanguine improving the return.
- Build tools and challenges: A Build Codex, card tips, post-run build highlights, and five combat challenges with new palette rewards.
- Solo Retry Seed: Retry a failed run with the same initial seed and hull in unranked practice. Practice grants no account rewards or leaderboard submissions.
Changes
- Upgrades now scale beyond the old damage-strength ceiling.
- Supply Drones announce their arrival and offer a mix of eligible Utility and Doctrine Ascendants. Ascendant cards have a stronger magenta glow.
- Modifier levels and rarity stay separate; refinement rarity rolls independently from Luck.
- HULL FRAGMENTING is now HULL RUPTURE, using a compact friendly pulse. Concussive Wave is quieter, and square-enemy wave pacing is calmer.
- Direct shots and launched Glaive cutters follow your active aim while the hull turns. Mouse and right-stick aiming take priority over idle auto-aim.
- Performance improvements reduce hitching in crowded battles and long online sessions.
Fixes
- Enemy and boss hitboxes better follow their visible hulls.
- Choosing upgrades or Relic Caches preserves your combo and gives you time to resume firing.
- Controller upgrade navigation reliably follows the cards and action buttons, including during Party's shared pause.
- Fixed Party enemy freezes, missed round transitions, old enemies or shots reappearing, and stale movement carrying into another match.
- Boss phase warps leave space around pilots, and killing a sniper immediately clears its laser warning.
Thanks for playing and sending in your reports. Good luck, pilots. Your questionable build has more options now.
