Development Update

Death at Fleming Manor · published 48 days ago

All eventsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

A lot of people enjoyed Death at Fleming Manor during Steam Next Fest in June.

We now have more than 65,000 wishlists.

Thank you very much for your support.

Here is a small update about the game.

1. We Made a YouTube Channel

https://www.youtube.com/@SUPERTHUMbGameArt

We do not use AI-generated art or assets in Death at Fleming Manor.

We draw the game art and make the in-game assets ourselves.

However, some people have said that our art was made with AI.

Because of this, we decided to make a YouTube channel and show our work.

Most of the assets are already finished, but we still have the original Clip Studio Paint files.

We will open these files one by one and show the layers inside them.

We will also show the references we used, including photos we took ourselves.

We are also preparing videos of the drawing and animation process.

2. Four Endings

The game originally had two endings. It now has four endings.

Your ending will depend on your choices and what you write in the final document.

We hope this gives players more results to discover.

3. UI and UX Improvements

UI and UX were the most common problems mentioned in the demo feedback.

We are now working on button positions, controls, and other parts of the interface.

These changes affect many parts of the game, so it is difficult to update the demo right away.

We are sorry about this.

We plan to upload an improved demo before the full game is released.

4. Release Date

We are currently planning to release the game in the first week of November.

We are a small team, and we are spending most of our time on development.

Because of this, we may be slow to answer questions in the Steam Community.

Thank you for understanding.

5. Game Length

The full game will have:

  • A tutorial

  • 12 episodes

  • 4 endings

Nobody dies in some episodes.

However, some episodes have a large number of casualties.

After counting them, we realized that quite a lot of people die in this game...

The full game will take around 12 hours to complete.

6. Hint System

Some puzzles in the game are difficult.

But we want everyone to enjoy the full story.

We will add a step-by-step hint system for difficult puzzles in each chapter.

We hope this helps players continue the game without giving up.

Please try to solve every case and reach the ending.

7. Translation

Each language in the game is being translated with the help of a native speaker of that language.

This is a story-focused mystery game, so good translation is very important to us.

We will do our best to make every translation clear and natural.

The demo only showed one small case.

The full game tells one connected story across all chapters. We want it to feel like reading a full mystery novel with an Agatha Christie-style atmosphere.

We will continue working on the game and polishing it until release.

Thank you again for your support.
