Devlog 1 — The Market of Memories

Hi everyone,

The first devlog for Oboro no Ichi is now live.

This time, instead of talking only about gameplay, I wanted to share something a little more personal: the origin of the game, the world behind it, and the meaning I hope it carries.

Oboro no Ichi is a cozy market-building game set in a spiritual world where wandering souls can rest, trade away their memories, and slowly find peace.

It continues the world of Midori no Kaori, but with a different meaning.

While Midori no Kaori was about helping lost souls remember and follow their path toward Tokoyo, Oboro no Ichi is about something softer: accepting, letting go, and finding comfort in Kakuriyo.

I wanted this first devlog to explain not only what the game is, but why I’m making it.

The project is inspired by the peaceful places I experienced in Japan, by traditional folklore, and by the idea that games can also be quiet spaces — places where players can slow down, breathe, and feel at home.

In some way, this game is also dedicated to the people who are no longer here.

Not as something sad, but as a warm place where memory can still rest.

You can watch the full first devlog below.

If this little market feels like a place you would like to visit, adding it to your wishlist would help me more than I can properly explain.
