Heya Wizards!

I'm pleased to announce that the first public playtest of "One Dumb Wizard" is now open and taking registrations, so head over the store page and register!

FAQ

What is in the playtest?

The playtest will be on the current build of the demo of the game that will be publicly available later this month. It covers all of Act 1 ("The Basement") minus the boss of the area and much of the story elements (dialogue, cutscenes, etc.) are removed to keep the experience focused the gameplay. It will also only include a subset of wand cores, woods and charms that will later be available in the Early Access release of the game.

Is there a limited number of slots?

For this first playtest session, I do plan on eventually putting a cap to the number of players allowed in. There is no concrete number and circumstances may change depending on how the playtest goes.

Why not have open registration?

To keep feedback and bug reports to a manageable scale. Once I am more confident in the state of the game, more players will be let in to the playtest.

How long will this playtest session last?

The playtest is planned to run until May 11th, 2026.

Where do I submit feedback/bug reports?

I will mostly be monitoring 2 places: the Discord (the link to which is available once you have access to the game) and the Steam Discussion board. Though if possible I'd prefer any feedback and bug reports be made on the Discord as I will likely be spending more time monitoring that.
